My daughter is getting married in September in our back yard. I've would like to plant a couple clematis. (Any reason to plant a new one LOL) Jackmanii or Nelly Moser for September blooms? It gets HOT with all day sun and snow in winter.

SierraMom: There may be a problem with "Nelly Moser" in that "she" blooms early, and then only a speck of reblooming thereafter, whereas Jackmanii blooms from Spring right through to Fall. You could check for other "C" class clematis, and then check the blooming time, just to make certain. Cheers!

Our only local place just got 3types in: Ernest Markham, Jackmanii, and Nelly. They are big enough to bloom this year. Nelly matches my color scheme for the wedding better and it listed fall blooming. Thanks for the tip that Jackmanii might put on a better fall show.

I agree w Frank, the Nelly will probably not have hardly any blooms on it come Sept. I'd go with the Jackmanii.
