The NGA database has one listing for Giant Ragweed.
Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida)

I was reading that there is a Texas Giant Ragweed.

From this link: https://www.cabi.org/isc/datas...
"According to USDA-NRCS (2016) two subspecies exist; A. trifida var. texana (Texan great ragweed) and A. trifida var. trifida (great ragweed). These subspecies have different distrubtions within North America, with A. trifida var. trifida being present in most states."

Is this all the same plant? Or does the database need to include the two subspecies?
Thank you Thank You! Thank You!

A. trifida var. texana was once classified as a synonym for A. trifida, but now is an accepted name, so I've added an entry for it. A. trifida var. trifida is still a synonym. Thank you for finding this.

Thanks! As I learn something elsewhere on the internet and in the real world, I check the new information against our database. Thumbs up
