Yesterday I added at least four pictures to the landscapes area of the Roses forum. When I looked today one of them was gone which features the large rock formation that runs along the side of my house for about 80 feet, at its closest about 10 feet from the house. Is it because no plants were featured in that picture? That would be my guess but I was left wondering.

Thank you,

Ingrid

Hi Ingrid ...

You did add four photos to NGA, but I don't see a fifth photo, which would be the one you are showing in your post above.

I'll be you are wondering how I checked ... Hilarious!

Go to your profile ... the little person on the top right of this page and click on YOUR PROFILE. When that opens, drop down to the section below the photo of your cat to the section titled "Plant Database Contributions:"

Below that you will see a link that says, "4 Landscape photos". Click on that and you will see the photos you have uploaded to NGA that have been approved for display.

For a while, new member photos are reviewed. This is because there are some people on the net who try to post inappropriate photos to the site. I am not certain when that restriction is removed, but it doesn't last long.

You get a notification that your photo has been approved.

There are a lot of new members posting photos right now, so the approval process may be slower than what is usual for the site.

Lyn, landscape photos do not go into an approval queue, they are added automatically.

Is it because no plants were featured in that picture?

Yes, I removed it for that reason, I just assumed you were testing things out and had added it in error.
Landscape photos should be two or more plants, ideally tagged with the plant names which link them back to their respective plant database. The purpose is to show how the plants are grown in a garden setting.
Too many interpret landscape as scenery or vacation shots. This is a plant and garden site though. nodding

I see your 4 lovely landscape photos: https://garden.org/plants/mult... but no plants are tagged in the pictures.

Oops ... I missed Sue's post where she removed one the one that apparently only showed the rock.

I thought that no plants being present might be the reason. I didn't label the plants because at the time I didn't know how to do that. I'm in the know now!
