Are acorns still awarded for landscape photos? I recently submitted 5 and have been receiving thumbs up system messages for the photos, but I have not received system notices that any acorns were awarded for the photos.

Also, I registered for the pollinator garden and did not receive a badge. If I did not do something correctly to earn acorns or a badge, could I be advised what to do to earn these?

Did you check the photo database? You would be able to double check if you photos were added to the database.

Just because you submit a photo and it is accepted for the database does not guarantee acorns if I understand the reason why acorns are awarded. On the home page, click on acorns and reread why they are earned.

I just read the acorn section again and I think I understand them. It sounds like you may have earned an acorn.
But if you submit 5 photos essentially of the same landscape, you do not automatically earn an acorn for each. You would only earn an acorn if there is some value to the photo. (Otherwise you might be photo bombing) I can't speak to that decision because others make it! It is their decision and I respect that.
So without having seen the photos I can only sssume that if you did not get an acorn it was because the image was not worthy.
As far as I know, badges are paid for in acorns, acorns only. 5 acorns per badge.
You can go to the "manage my badge section" in your profile. If there is a "Pollinator Badge", you would need 5 acorns to get it.
A thumbs up is just an acknowledgment that some one liked either your photo or a post that you might have made in response to something. Thumbs do not mean anything when it comes to badges.

The Million Garden Pollinator Challange badge which is what you are asking about is 5 acorns but you can't buy it for yourself. It is awarded to those deemed worthy by the NGA administrators.
Again on the home page re- read the section on badges.

I believe that I read that the landscapes pics do get awarded an acorn, but they do not receive the normal notice about it. You'd just have to check your acorn numbers before adding a photo and afterwards.

Yes, the pollinator badge is awarded automatically. Nothing to buy or do.

As I recall, there was a time period for the Pollinator badge and one had to go to a specific website and fill out information about your specific garden to earn it. It sounds like SamLav may have done that, and may have just not been awarded one for who knows what reason. If so, you might check with Dave.

I thought all landscape photos got nuts, although perhaps that has changed. I give them out for tagged landscapes, but only thumbs if untagged.

I used the link provided on this site for registering my garden. They sent back a copy of the form I submitted. Perhaps I should write Dave to see why the badge did not show up. Maybe there was another step, like showing my registration form to Dave. Shrug!
All the landscape photos were in different settings, but I am never able to tag them on my iPad or phone. Sad I do not have a working computer, but even so, in the past acorns were awarded merely if I submitted the photos without tags. I know they were posted, because I checked back afterwards.
Anyway, Thank You! @BigBill, @plantmanager, and @Bonehead. I will go back to read again the stipulations for acorns and the Pollinator Badge. I will try to submit a photo and see if my number of acorns changes, too.

Sorry Bill but this is not correct. All Landscape Photos automatically earn an acorn. It has nothing to do with it's value or deeming it not worthy.
As mentioned, it does not trigger an system message but it is added to your total count.
Acorn earning descriptions are at the bottom of any site page.

That sounds right. And I assume that one would only sign up once.
