I wish I had real money for the repellents I have used that failed in a couple of years.
The latest is BOBBEX. I had great luck with it 2 years ago. The applications every 6 weeks worked great.
This season I sprayed in late April, six weeks later sprayed again. I sprayed Daylilies,Phlox and Lilies again last week and the deer are hard at it. They are eating hostas( of course ) and lily buds.
Those females that dropped fauns a few weeks ago are ravenous nursing mothers.
SOOOO, plan to change repellents every couple of years.
Frustrating.

Oh, dear.....I don't have much of a deer problem....Irish spring soap worked last year.....too bad the county doesn't sterilize the deer!

I HATE deer. They are eating everything. I have found that fabric softener does somewhat work, but if it rains it washed off and they eat everything by morning.

I'm going to experiment with a tip I heard from someone and construct an invisible fence of fishing line between stakes. She said all she had strung was a line of 20lb fishing line 18" up from ground, and one at waist height. Since the deer couldn't see it, they'd run into it and shy away, and the plants were therefore protected, even though there was plenty of room to reach through.

I'm going to try this around the edge of some of my raised flower beds that aren't meant for walking through, and see how well a simple fence along the outside of a kidney-shaped bed helps protect them or not. Another large round one I'll circle completely, and a third I'll mostly circle, with just a few walkways to go through. The deer have parties on our lawn every night, and I've been planting a lot of small new things. I hope this is one thing that'll help.

It may work .. we had put some plastic netting around our newly planted trees .. so far they stayed away
