Oddly enough I was perusing Google to see what plumeria seedlings look like. I've never been any good at starting things from seeds. Lord knows I have enough plumeria. Sorta. Maybe not? My seed pods broke open during a time there was construction chaos around the house last month. I couldn't get to them to cut the pods down. But I figured I had bad luck with seeds so Seems like Mother Nature had other ideas. I have 5 seedlings growing in other plumeria pots, the pineapple plant, and in my banana tree pot. I can't just leave them. They are not seeds any more they are plantlets and plantlets I cannot ignore. I need tips. Fast. When to pull them out of the pot, transplant etc.? This is the White NOID cutting was given to me from a dearly departed friend when she visited from Hawaii around 1991. The cutting was quite abused by my naivete but stuck with me all these Learning Years. She's 12-14 ft tall now, multi branched....in a pot. While I don't have the patience to start with something so young, this tree has a special place in my heart. Any hints would be appreciated. There is another pod on the tree that just opened. A singlet pod . It's twin broke off. I will let her sow on her own again and see what happens. Not that you have to see what the seedlings look like. But I did take photos of all 5.
Okay, so I am reading I can transplant when the seedling gets it's second set of leaves and is 3" tall? Please confirm. I want these to make it. Did I mention I am terrible at seeds and seedlings?? They are delicate in this heat and need attention. Help?

Cheryl that is what I would do. I grew about 100 from seed 2.5 years ago. They were started in very small cell trays and when they got a little bigger I moved them up to small pots. In my experience they were easy to get going and pretty tough. Let them get a little more size and transplant them. I grew mine in a hot greenhouse and just kept them moist.

I've transplanted the seedlings. I have 6 now, as another seed sprouted. I have been researching and there really isn't a whole lot on the care of seedlings, in particular, a time line. What I can expect, how fast they will grow, sun exposure etc... I know it comes second nature to seed-growing folks but I am a Newbie to this and not only do I have questions, I don't want to have unrealistic expectations. I did find that after a year, they are treated like adult plumeria. That's amazingly fast to me! @emddvm Thanks for posting your photos. At least now I know it will take 2.5 years to even expect a flower.

Make that 8 seedlings. Found 2 more seedlings and an empty seed pod. I expect a few more in a month. I am not into seed-growing. But I can't ignore seedlings.
