Hi all, just starting here, and I saw a bunch of helpful folks who might be able to answer. I started trying tog row sedum voodoo from seed, I got a bunch of seedlings started, and they haven't really grown in a month. They are about the same size, maybe a 1/4" tall for a few weeks now. Is this normal?

Hi Moe. That is probably about right. Where do you live and what conditions are you growing them in?
I know the ones that came up in my raised beds from the Sedum 'Blue Spruce' took awhile to get going. They just stayed like little embryo seedlings, until one day they started taking off growing.

Will be interesting to see if your Voodoo comes true from seed. Can you post us some photos? We would love to watch them grow.

Well, here's what I have got. These have probably been in this condition for 3-4 weeks. they now live on my front porch until they decide to grow a bit more, then I will plant them in my tree rings.



I started them in flats, mixing some starting soil and sand together. I haven't seen a lot of these, living in Dallas, but I think that they should do pretty good here. We'll sure find out.

Oh, just look at those little babies.Please keep up updated on their growth. It will be so much fun to watch them grow up.

Planning a green shed roof so growing sedums from seed.very slow growing and very small seedlings.Hopefully the effort will be worth it.

Lykewake. Would love to see photos of your project. What part of the world do you live in? Growing zone?
What sedum seed are you using?
There are many sedum that you can buy just one 4" pot and scatter bits and pieces that will root and take off growing very quickly.

I planted some ice plant seeds and they're still sitting in the seed compost. I just touched them so they were in the soil and misted them barely. And they're still sitting there after 2 1/2 weeks. How long do they take? Everything else is up but those. Has anyone else tried ice plants by seed?

I would imagine that temperatures have a lot to do with how long it takes for them to germinate, but it can take a month or more for them to get going.
What type of ice plant are you talking about?
And what is your growing zone?
