You see a lot about planting purple coneflower in containers. Often times when you see plants that are described as container friendly, they are not. I would like to plant a few containers and would consider purple coneflower. However, would they survive in containers during the winter with no mulching or burying the pots? I would like to keep the containers for annuals, or perennials that can withstand winter freezes with no additional care.
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.

I have not tried Purple , but have had smaller varieties overwinter in 5 gallon containers. I think it is Pow Wow and Butterfly Kisses that I put in at my Mothers house.
