For the curious, here is the same plant now, 8 years later, back in the ground and twice as tall. Long story but I don't plan to dig it up again. Smiling

If you look at the constrictions in the stem, you can resolve individual seasons of growth. Looking that way you can see this past season (the plant's first full season in the ground again) it grew 3 times as much as it was doing on average in pots.

What is the plant at the far right? I think I have it, but have never seen it bloom.

There is a furry Kalanchoe noID and a jade plant, both of which get by on rain alone (which was like 2 inches last season). That Kalanchoe flowers every year like clockwork even when it's super dry.

Thanks! I didn't even notice the Jade. I do have a furry Kalanchoe like that and it's so happy that I have to keep chopping it off and potting up new plants. I've had it in the house on window sills and in the greenhouse. Maybe I should plant some outside! I'd love to have it bloom.
