Butterfly Bush (Buddleja davidii) Under the section, Propagation Seeds:

It should read: 70ºF to 80ºF but is showing the question mark symbol instead of the degree symbol.

There are a few of those throughout the database, (almost 500 entries) I hope eventually @dave can run something to correct them because we can't see them in the edit function to do them manually.

I reported one or two that I found in the past and I don't remember for certain but I think I was told that I could edit the data myself and make the correction ... but I don't want to be awarded an acorn for a simple little edit like that. Smiling

I'd go ahead and do it, and you can toss the acorns to newbies for the raffles.

You have to do them from scratch...just remove the entire section and then put it in correctly. Same fix works when there are odd characters in plant names too.

I think I knew that, but the blank section bugs me. Sticking tongue out Anyway, too many entries have it.

I don't go searching them out for fixin', that's for sure, but I do try to correct them as I come across them while doing other work in the database.

Can you give me a link to a plant that is not yet fixed so I can see it myself?

I honestly do not know how these things get in there.

UTF8 support is standard everywhere nowadays and the symbol for degrees is easy to copy and paste. Some browsers are altering this when it's being edited is my only guess. I'm looking into the feasibility of fixing these en-mass.

Well this is interesting. Internally in the system it is being stored like this:

Cover the seeds very thin, sow at 18°-22°C for 4 weeks, move to -4 C°- +4 C° for 6 weeks, move to 10 C°. for germination, or wintersow.

So maybe there's something I can do to fix this. Checking it now.
