I live about 60 miles southeast of Buffalo and this year spring came very late, and was a very cold one. Then we got lots of rain, then heat. In the last 6 weeks we have had very little rain until this week. I've got earlies (Delicate Design - 1st blooms of the year) blooming with Mid-Lates (One Above You). Has anyone ever seen this before? I live in a sub-climate zone 4, surrounded by zone 5 and I'm usually 2 weeks behind the zone 5 bloom times. I've got 112 daylilies that are sending up their first scapes this year and its 7/25. Does anyone think like me and just blame it on the weird weather?

Yep. Most of mine started late and/or bloomed outside of their designation. Everything seems to be about 2 weeks off.

Well at least we can enjoy our blooms a bit later than normal.

My daylilies were pretty much on time. But I do have some earlies that started blooming with the lates.

The timing has been off for some of my newer varieties. But it seems like my established plants bloomed in the correct sequence.

I'm onto my Mid-Late with some Lates starting. My very lates are just starting to get scapes.

This season has been all kinds of crazy. Some very good bloomers have done poorly, ones that haven't bloomed in years finally did & flower size & bud counts have gone to either extreme.

I'm hoping with the huge amounts of rain we've been getting the plants can bulk up for next year. Who knows? I might even see some rebloom this year! Crossing Fingers!
