I bought 2 amaryllis bulbs in a local orchard 2 weeks ago (about an inch in diameter each bulb) and planted them in a small pot. Bulb growing very fast, I can see a lot of roots already and first leaf after 2 weeks is already about 8 inches long.

And now a strange part. Few days ago I suddenly started to see a new leave going out from the ground near the wall of the pot, and not from the bulb itself ? Growing very fast, 2 inches in about 3-4 days, and looks like a regular leaf.

looks to me like your bulb may have had a new offset bulb connected to it. So I would just let it grow and do not separate them.

You got a bonus bulblet which will eventually be large enough to separate. No rush, wait until the pot becomes too crowded..

thank, for me it was strange, that 1 inch bulb already starting to split.

One more strange thing (in all my amaryllis ) is the speed in witch leaves are growing. This new leave grew in about 2 inches in 3 days, and my other amaryllis plants has the same speed. I did not seen it other plants that I have . It is supposed to be like this ?

P.S. Sorry for all the stupid questions that I'm asking.

I think it is growing exceptionally fast. I have never seen any of mine grow that fast.

Now I understand why I have 3cm diameter bulb after less that 2 years of growth
