You're so good, going with the water ban. I totally ignored it this year. I imagined the water police coming to my door. I'd be like "Yeah? And you want me to what - let my plants go thirsty? I THINK NOT!!" BAM!!

(ahem) Sorry, I've always been a rebel . . .

We have had a nice cool steady rain ALL day today. Glory hallelujah and it is still falling. I have been watering some but not as much as I should have been. The lawn is greening up again. You can almost see it turn! I have a few things blooming. Rudbeckias, Star Jasmine, tropical hibiscus, hubby's sunflowers, Russian sage, some garden phlox, my may-night salvia is growing again. I sa my honeysuckle vine is getting neww buds again also. The rest of the place is just awful looking. Nothing grew decent but the weeds and they hve taken over few beds. Ive my work cut out for me come the end of September,

I was told by another person on the block who was constantly watering hers that I can get a meter put in my basement that from April to October It ill measure waster water. from my two outside water spigots. I write the number down in April and then send that in a couple weeks before the statements dates and I won't have to pay the sewer treatments for it is going back into the ground.d Why Ed never looked into that I couldn't say. BUT I will come April. Or water and sewer is supposed to be tripled by July 2014. I don't like the idea of having to pay treatment of water that never gets to the sewer to begin with. And that is essentially what we have been doing these past 8 years.

Beautiful gardens, CC. And I know all about the heat and drought, but it's always good to look at pictures of the way it was and will be again!
