The nightly Marine layer kept the ash at bay until last night. Today there is actually sun as apposed to that eerie half light we had yesterday. We are at the mercy of those fickle winds. Sighing!

It won't get better any time soon. We have given up on our rainy season, and fire season is year round now. Much as I hate living in a city, it does have the advantage of having two fire stations within a mile and a half, and neighbors that would grab a garden hose as they dial 911.

Had that eerie orange glow from the sun trying to get through the ash. At least we seem to be far enough away. But you never know. The foothills by us are about half a mile away and they are so dry. Just another day in the high ninties
