It was a very interesting segment. I can't wait to see how this pruning method works.

Lynn, the fig cuttings you gave me a couple of years ago are still in big pots in my greenhouse. Late last fall they lost their leaves, just as they would have done if they had been outside, but a bit later since they got no frost. I watered them just a bit now and then to let them rest while keeping them alive, and now they have green buds! I think I have 10 of them, only lost half a dozen in the first few months. They made a few figs last summer!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Great to hear Mary. They really are tough trees/shrubs once they can get a strong root system going. Mine have survived down to 6°F. Should make it even lower with plenty of mulch. Even the above ground trunk and limbs have survived.

My two little figs live in pots in the cool room over winter and outside in the summer . One of the two just broke dormancy this week and leaves are starting.
I will move the awake one to a south facing warmer room this week and start to add some nutrients to the water .

I get a dozen plus from each tree. that is enough for me . I only eat them fresh .
Last year however I had two crops off one of the trees, not sure why , maybe age or just a good year Smiling
