I didn't realize till that I had a banner posted last night. Sorry I didn't respond sooner.
This is the pic that I made the banner with. Taken on July 2, 2006 at the back of our house. It is our house siding that is behind the Crocosmia. In this pic, you'll notice a Ruby Throated Hummingbird on the far left enjoying the nectar of the flowers. There's fennel in front of the hummer. There's daylily buds and flowers in the pic. I didn't realize that when I took the pic that a hummer was in the shot, so I was very happy to see it.
I had two clumps of Crocosmia 'Lucifer' in my yard years ago. One in the front flower bed and the other clump as you see in the pic/banner. I haven't had either one for years, but maybe in a year or two I can get at least one new clump growing and blooming for the hummingbirds.
It's too bad that Lucifer isn't listed as a container plant, because I'd like to grow in in a couple of containers.
