Thread OP
wetern NY (Zone 6a)
In July I dug up the bulbs associated with the Red Crown Imperial bulb I planted years ago. There were over 15 -- the largest slightly larger than a golf ball (so much smaller than one you'd buy in a store). I hung them in a mesh bag in the garage w/the intent of planting them in Sept/Oct.

Yesterday I noticed they are sprouting roots!!! 3/4" long now. Should I just plant them? or put them in the refrigerator? or pot them up and put in the basement ( not cold, but cooler than outside) ? I'm in zone 6a, and summer isn't over yet (I hope). I'm afraid if I plant them in the ground they will grow and then did from the frost (in Oct/Nov).

I also planted a Yellow Crown Imperial back them, but didn't dig up its bulbs yet.
