I bought Coleus 'Inferno' back in March and kept it in the house until I could plant it outside. I loved it so much that I took cuttings from it and now they are growing so well, I think they will outgrow their little pots before I can plant them next spring. Maybe they will slow down now that I've brought them indoors. I may have to transplant because I can already see tiny roots at the bottom of the pot.

I have had luck starting daylilies in the winter, but this is my first venture with an annual. Any advice about watering, feeding, etc. would be appreciated.

Beautiful! Coleus make fine winter houseplants. I put them as close as possible to my sunniest available windows. You could also trim the stems from the mama plant & stick them in jars of water. (Just remove the lowest few sets of leaves so they aren't in water.)

Thanks, Tiffany. I was hoping I could grow them successfully over winter. I've already promised starts to my girls.

My pleasure :+) Some of my fav houseplants are/were found in the "annuals" section.

You can even make starts of your starts during the winter. I would upgrade the pot size if they are already coming out. You can even plant three or so in a larger pot.

Thanks, Loretta! I was wondering about making starts of the starts. They sure have taken off and will be too tall in the pots they are in. Definitely will need to upgrade the pots.
