I bought these Chinese pruners a couple of months ago. I have more pruners than Carter has pills. These are good shears. And they are on sale at Amazon for $7.49 after coupon code 504TED8A

These pruners look very much like the Felco trimmers. I am tempted to buy another:)

Frank,

What is the quality of the steel ? I've noticed that the newer pruners don't have the same durability as my old pruners sold by the same company. They don't hold an edge as long.
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.

These pruners look as good if not better than the Felco pruners.

They have a teflon coating in the blade, I could not tell if my Felco pruners had a teflon coating...

the Felco pruners are on the left

I love that they have red handles for visibility. I, too, have lots of snippers - in my tool bucket, in my shop, on a random shelf, in the yard... If I took better care of my tools I might buy for quality, but alas.

Thank you for the recommendation. I do a lot of pruning and I haven't had a good pair of pruners since I lost my old ones.

I had my old Coronas for 25 years. I had no problems keeping an edge on the blade and no problems with them warping. The newer coronas are NOT made as well even tho' they look the same.

Corona BP 4314D Dual Link Bypass Pruner

I bought these this year for ~$15. I was interested in the compound 3x action. I cannot tell the difference.

They are really lightweight, using stamped steel rather than forged. Makes you wonder why they put a compound lever on what appears to be light duty pruner.

They are rated to cut up to 3/4 inch, but I only use them lighter duty.

That's it, Frank. You nailed it. I didn't know they were made of stamped steel instead of forged.

Thank you for the information.

I wish I could find my old pruners .. Sighing!

The guy who pruned my trees last year told me he has been able to pick up a couple of pair of old bypass pruners at garage sales.

I don't really do a lot of heavy pruning, but I do a LOT of pruning. I not only prune my 100+ roses, I prune roses for some of the older members of my church. I just cannot keep a sharp edge on my newer pruners.

I have found that little things like the springs and screws that hold them together are what will go to pot on the cheap stuff .
