Thread OP

I have had this plumeria for a couple of months and it had big healthy leaves. It is rooted. The stem seems firm. We have had 2 weeks of warm rainy weather. I moved the pot so it wouldn't get soaked day in and day out. About 3 days ago the leaves curled and died. I have searched the website but can't find any reason why. Any help would really be appreciated!

Thank you. I am surprised because it has been so cloudy and rainy. I am in central Texas where it is normally sunny and much hotter. Will sunburn kill the plant? I am new at growing these.

Is that in a clay pot? I keep mine where they get only morning sun. Even here in TN they get leaf burn if they are in the full sun, must make a huge difference if they are in the ground or potted. Just move yours into more shade and the next leaves it puts out will be normal. Will you have to move that indoors for the winter?

Your plant looks healthy, so I wouldn't stress too much over the leaves, they are soon going to go dormant anyway.

I doubt this is sun burn. I had some do that to me also with the cold snap. I live in central Texas and we had a drastic temp change in one day with massive amounts of rain. Your plumeria needs to come inside now for the winter and if the soil is really soggy it should be taken out of the pot. I have brought in all of mine. It will continue to drop it's leaves if it has not already. We got more rain coming so if you have not brought it in yet you need to do that now. And for what it's worth mine all stay in full all day sun on my hot deck through the summer. They will not burn from sun if well watered.

Its time for them to start jettisoning their leaves in preparation for dormancy so as long as your stem is sill firm and green I would not worry. I have some that are simultaneously shedding leaves and producing bloomspikes.
