My sincere condolences, @SongofJoy, Carol. I can only imagine how tough this has been for you. Our next anniversary will be 47.

Your landscape projects are shaping up well. It is hard working in this heat and humidity. I just finished doing the yard, and though it only took a couple of hours, and I took an AC/water break in between, I am drenching wet and exhausted.

Thank you all for the kind words. Thank You!

Your garden is looking good, Dave. What variety of Alocasia/Colocasia are those?
I garden for the pollinators.

@SongofJoy Carole the first one is Thai Giant. A tiny plant came up about a month ago from a bulb that I had in the grown in the ground about 3 years ago. Thought it was a long time dead. Dug it up, potted and will winter over in the greenhouse.

The second plant is actually an Anthurium, Anthurium clarinervium to be exact.

Hello Neighbor Gardeners,
I'm new to this forum and stopped by to say hi.
Anybody doing any winter sowing? This is my first year and I'm really enjoying that and seed & plant trading! I have so many plants going this year. Exciting for sure!
What are you planting? I tip my hat to you. Hurray!

Hi Renee,
I think you'll enjoy it here. There's a wealth of gardening knowledge available on this site.
I plant for the pollinators. I also have a lot of daffodils, irises, and daylilies. And a few of my favorite roses. Things are finally beginning to bud and bloom here. That's always exciting.
I garden for the pollinators.

I've been looking for Tennessers on the website. My newly weeded & (mostly) mulched beds have reactivated my gardening bug and I've been having fun looking around. I look forward to following this forum, hopefully with some East TN folks posting.

For some reason we are a slow thread. I haven't done any gardening yet haven't even mowed the yard yet. I have been busy with bee hives. I lost all but one of my hives this year and I'm trying recoup by hanging swarm traps.

Hello! I know it doesn't say Tennessee yet but we're hoping to move to Middle TN this summer! All depends on how fast our house here sells, of course. I've already got plans for moving iris and peonies with us! Pretty excited...hopefully I can update on that progress soon!

Good morning, Tennesee'ers!
I'm hoping to get some responses and wake up this thread. I'm NE of Knoxville and have our typical sun/shade in a clearing in a woods. Great for growing stuff that doesn't like full, full sun.

My garden has been going gangbusters with our weather & rain this year. I was able to get it weeded and mulched in time and haven't been struggling (yet) with weeds. Yes, I know that will change!

Hope to hear from some folks chiming in. I'll generally have some easy growers to share if anyone needs divisions.

Gave him a drink and set him back in our tree line going the other way. There's a stream/creek back there I think he was coming from.

He's a beauty! A bunch of years agao, a friend gave me some plum granny seed and I had a couple/few vines growing (bummer - the seed doesn't seem to be active still. I broadcast some early this year, and nothing is coming up!). When the plum grannies were growing big, I heard some rustling in the garden. A painted turtle was making a beeline for the melons! I found him in the melons the rest of the season. Smiling

Sighing! I wish the seeds would have sprouted.... Maybe someone who does seeds could do something with them, but I'm a lazy gardener.
