I know I've posted this before, but thought it was worth repeating now that the holidays are upon us. For the past several years, we have not put up an indoor tree and instead set one up on our back deck. It sits in front of a pair of french doors, so gives the illusion of being part of the living room. Some years we use a live tree, others a cut tree. I put up some lights which I plug into a timer. Ornaments are all bird-friendly - small birdseed balls, cut out pieces of whole grain seeded bread, fruit, pinecones with peanut butter, popped corn (just toss into the needles). My winter birds are mostly chickadees and small woodpeckers, and they look like ornaments themselves as they snack on the goodies.

This was my first bird tree, I'll try to remember to post pics from this year once I get it set up.

I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
