Now it's 11-29-18 at 8:30 pm...it's not Nov. 30th. I was loading photos into the contest and puff, I clicked back and landed in the present in pic contest voting.
What's up with this?
According to rules voting wasn't supposed to start till tomorrow, or maybe just after midnight..,

I just noted UPC time...what in the heck is that? Universal something or the other I'm sure. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure I never think of time within those parameters.
I do understand why it is so set up.

GMT/UTC or Zulu time, 830 Central would be 230 Zulu, a little different.

So I guess it's too late to enter anymore pictures.

I did wonder if the last day was the 29th or the 30th. Guess now I know.

So when do we need to finish voting in this first round? I'm confused (not unusual).

That timezone stuff can be pretty confusing.

To Dave's credit, though, on the picture submission page, there was a real-time clock that gave the time in GMT/Zulu/whatevertheheck the most up-to-date term is.

I was watching that closely with each submission. I think I got my last one in when it read 23:55.

I'm pretty critical of bad instructions - imprecision... But I really don't know how he could have made it any more clear. I just took this screen shot... it's 6:46 a.m. here for me - but already afternoon on the site clock.

I'm sorry you didn't get everything in, jmorth, that's got to be frustrating.

Submitting your entries two full days (or a week) before the deadline is best. You can always submit and then delete if you find something better.

Years ago I learned the hard way as well.

Dang! Here I finally found a picture of my friends and me when we were partying back in the day and I missed the deadline to post it. Would have posted it in the Wildlife category.
