I just noticed that threads no longer show the initial photo (if there is one). Is this something new? Or am I imagining it? Or...?

They're still showing up for me. Can you cite a specific example?

In the Photography forum, I just started a new thread for snowy pictures and uploaded 3 to begin. On my home page, the only thing that appears is the title to the thread, no thumbnail. Then I noticed none of the threads have any thumbnails. Maybe it is a setting I need to change?

Here's another one, not started by me, again no picture shows up on my screen (until I open the thread).

The thread "Mystery seeds" in Lilies forum

I checked my settings and didn't see anything that would cause them to not display.

I'm seeing thumbnail photos but I just noticed that at the top of every thread page, there appears to be a large blank white space between the banner and the thread subject.

I tried both my laptop screen and my much larger desktop screen - no thumbnail photo. Once I open the thread, the photos are there, just not the 'teaser' that usually shows up on new thread notices.

I see ads in that space. Do you have the ads blocked?

Thanks for the examples, Deb. I can see the thumbnails in the Lilies forum thread listing, but the "thumbs" column is absent in the photography forum. Not sure why.

Interesting. You're right, Deb, there isn't a thumb column on the main page for the photography forum. No pictures. I'm using Google Chrome browser.

I don't see ANY thumbnails in any of the forums. I use a desktop with Firefox. It's not that important, just a bit of a boring change for me. I like pictures.

You don't see them in the Plant ID forum?
How about the Plant Photos forum? https://garden.org/forums/view...

I checked several random forums and the only one I see missing is the Photography forum.

I see them when I actually open a forum. Where I am not seeing them is on my home page, which I have set to 'see' all new threads, and to also 'watch' a couple specific forums. Maybe I am mis-remembering, but I thought if a photo was included in the first post, it would show up as a bit of a teaser.

Deb, are you saying you cannot see the thumb on the Plant Photos forum that Sue posted a link to? They are big photos, larger than most forum thumbs.

I can see the thumbnails from the Plant Photo forum. But, that is only after I actually open the forum. What I can't see is a thumbnail on my home page which I have set to show all new threads. I mess with those settings fairly often, though, and I think perhaps I am just imagining they used to show up...? I find most of my issues end up being 'operator error' . . .

Hmm. While I don't see them on the Photography forum main page, I see them on others but not all forums have a thumb column. The one Sue posted above does.

I hope you can figure out the problem. The thumbs are there on many of the forum's main pages, without opening the them to a first or certain post.

On the other hand, I don't have my page open to all forums but I don't think there is a thumb on the home page, if that's what you are talking about.

No. There is not a thumb on the Homepage. I don't think there ever has been.
