I just joined up a few days ago & thought I would introduce myself. I'm Shawn, living near the Chesapeake Bay & hope to get to know some of other gardeners here . No matter where I live, I always seem to start gardening.. Already planning for spring & got some seed trays going already. Can't wait for all the new offerings, although there is never enough money to buy everything I want to buy. Though, if one had the luxury to have it all at once, what else would there be to do, but pull weeds, water, or add mulch (oh, what fun is that?) Rolling my eyes. . Well, maybe a thin layer... Who knows, I may end up recognizing a few members from other forums ( or you, me) Shawn

Thank you for the welcome aboard, Karen. It will take me some time to get things situated & started again. There wasn't a single plant in this yard- until I got here! At least I began starting from seeds & will get on with ordering by mail, as the new year arrives along with next years catalogs.

@kqrcna thanks. I have been looking around the site. I appreciate the welcome & suggestion.. I haven't many seeds, so bought some off the rack in September & fortunately found some in my belongings after moving. I will get busy with mail ordering as usual. I did manage to get some Chocolate Cosmos already, from Baker Creek!

Shawn ~ That is amazing! Treat those 4 seeds like gold, as Chocolate Cosmos have not previously produced viable seeds.

Let us know the results. Crossing Fingers!

Happy New Year, to all.
@RickM I am actually almost 4 hours away (unless exceed 65 mph!)to attend. Otherwise, I would. It would wear me out, just to get to Richmond, for Maymont, Show & Sale, which was held at the Convention Center, held there. - 3 hours round trip, plus time looking to (benefit the Victorian home & extensive gardens ) at show & buying all sorts of various plants & seeds..I think it is held in February, but have not looked. My back is out of sorts...
@evelyninthegarden Yeah, they are doing fine, as of so far. I think two weeks old now (?) You will have to divulge, some of those species of Iris seeds, you are hiding ! Maybe, I have seeds by summer time, which was partly why I wanted to get such an early start. I actually had a seed develop, on the clone, but it always disappeared, just as it was ready to be ripe. Should have used duct tape Smiling . Now, I know better. It may have been goldfinches. But they are sweet birds.
I hope to see a Bluebird once again...Shawn
