I thought about growing it as well. What outside condition does it need ? Special soil ?

Hi Sangel ! I will tell you how I grow it. I don't know if there is a better way....
This plant was sent to me in a forums exchange, several years ago. About six or seven years ago. The woman who sent it to me had asked me for epiphyllum cuttings and I had not asked for nothing special. She sent me what she had.( I must say that everything she sent me was wonderful). There were several different bulbs in the box. An a Scadoxus bulb was among them. The only thing she told me was that I should put it into the soil and that the plant would disappear during the winter and would grow again during the Spring.
I put it in a pot with a good potting soil that I bought at a plant nursery. The soil has no special conditions. It is only a good soil.
When the plant grew and bloomed I was amazed !!! I love this plant ! And every year I become rather worried when it disappears during the winter. (Will it grow again next year?...) But it has grown again every year so far...
I must say that there is mild weather where I live. Temperatures that don't go below freezing during the Winter. And not too hot weather during the Summer. The woman who sent it to me lives in a subtropical area of my country. It is the warmest region in Argentina. And I live in a pampean climate with mild winters.
I don't know if what I have said helps too much but that is my experience. I have not given a special treatment to this plant.

hi, @ceci@, we here have in winter minimum of 3-5 C at winter, and can go up to 40 C at summer (with less that 10% humility), but usually it is about 332 C with 60-80% humility. Not every plant can survive this climate. Do you think Scadoxus can survive ?

It is on my wish list to order (from Thailand).
