Here is the life history of the plant above. We have one, that I planted March of 2014 (first photo), and you can see it's bubbler with a new Lavender planted next to it in the above photo in Marylins message box. The second photo below is from five months after planting at the end of August of 2014. In March of the next year it began to bloom (third photo) which continued right through May (fourth photo). It's still growing and at this point has filled its corner and is already snuggling up to the Lavender (fifth photo). This last close shot gives you a better idea of what it looks like in person and is it's most recent photo from November which was also a photo contest entry . So March of 2016 it will be two and I'm expecting another great bloom. As far as culture this is in full sun in a raised plot with twice a week watering for twenty minutes via the bubbler and the soil was amended with a small amount of well aged hoarse manure in early spring of 2015. We have many of the S. officinalis cultivars and the species with only three that ever bloomed. Five other cultivars are in this same plot. Salvia officinalis 'Veriegated Berggarten, 'lavandulifolia' have bloomed and the species also. We have three S. officinalis 'Berggarten' and they have not ever bloomed. The blooms are just a bonus anyway because the foliage and form is very wonderful.
