I don't think there's anything unusual, that's what they looked like here before it got down to -9C a few weeks ago and killed all the foliage that wasn't already dead. The green leaves will still be producing food for the plant so I would leave them alone. You could pull off the dead stuff if it bothers you (and if it comes away easily).
