Oh, Gigi that's too bad about the baby buds! I learned my lesson the hard way about cutting off the dry sheaths, too.
Don't worry too much about those Catt buds in your picture, this week it's not supposed to go much below 50 or so which is fine for them. Especially since yours is protected somewhat by that nice oak tree.
I bring my Catts into the house when it's predicted to go down to 40 or so. Otherwise they do fine with some cooler nights and they love the bright, cooler days behind the cold front to get a good drying out.
Today we have wind and chilly rain. Wish I had done my fungicide spray yesterday instead of fertilizing (which is no doubt all rinsing off the plants now). Oh well, I can spray everybody with fungicide on Monday when things dry out again.
