A footnote to my comment above:

Allowing the soil to dry out between waterings of seedlings from time to time may not kill the plant. But the prolonged and protracted practice of allowing the soil to dry out will most certainly arrest/stunt adenium growth. This is not from scientific evidence...it is from my own anecdotal evidence...I have seen it happen with some of my seedlings.
