I am not (!) an Erythrina expert...I just grow a few in pots in Indiana. However, Erythrina crista-galli blooms after the new shoots grow in the spring and it's fully leafed out, so I don't think the one in the Marshall Islands is that one. Also, crista-galli opens blooms from nearer the base out to the tip of the shoot, unlike the one in the photo which displays blooms in clusters.

There are 130 species of Erythrina, so it's always a guess, but I think the most likely one is Erythrina variegata... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... There is a picture of the blooms in the article. I think that species would be the most common on the Marshall Islands from what I've read. Hope that helps.
