Did you scroll down to look at the other photos Hetty? The spines are the correct shape, look at other Eriosyce sp. and you will see they look different. The spines do age, look at the one in the wild which is in Chile.

Spines: Short but very strong and thick, stiff greyish-brown spines whit darker tip, young spines are brownish while older one became greyish

Thanks for the extra photos Agavegirl, they do show small tubercules. It could be a hybrid. Also, a mature plant will look different to a young one.
