I agree with everything you stated. I had it on the patio, but would have it in a container away from it. In fact, I got it again from FBTS in 2014 and planted it by itself in a container and it didn't grow well. Might have been too much shade where I had it, planting it into too large of a container right after it arrived in its small pot or both.
