Interesting subject.
When the pecan tree starts to bud in the spring, is when I bring all my plants back outside.
My grandpa told me that there will be no more frost when this occurs. I've been following this rule of thumb since I started growing tender succulents and pachycauls (back in the early 80's), and it has never failed me.
Not sure if this works everywhere, but it has in SE Texas.
