I feel head over heels for chicken paprikosh the first (and last) time I had it. I wish I still knew someone who knows how to make it good.

DND, there are many versions of the paprikosh, the one I make is quite simple.

1 chicken cut up, or whatever parts you like
3 or 4 onions, chopped
5 tablespoons of sweet paprika
1 green pepper, or whatever color you have on hand
1 cup sour cream
1 cup of water
Salt and pepper

Season and brown the chicken in a little oil and butter then remove from pan. Add onions and cook slowly until they are well cooked but not brown, this can take awhile.
Add paprika and cook with the onions a few seconds, put the chicken and juices back in the pan, add the water and stir in sour cream, add pepper, which can be optional. Cook gently for about 45 minutes. Serve over rice, noodles or potatoes, with a dollop of sour cream if desired.
