So happy to have found someone else who wasn't reaching for the spray I try to rescue joe pye's and bonesets when I see them...very rare...due to ever growing deer population...both awesome insect magnets!

From the little research I did on the wasps, and I am no expert, but I think we have different species....I think yours is Polistes fuscatus and mine is P. exclamans. There's a bit more red in mine.
