It goes back to glass half full...attitude. Sometimes it is hard to see the light at that tunnel's end.
My son got a degree in government - public administration.
And in criminal justice. "Do you want to be a lawyer??" NO. "Work in local government?" NO
"Law enforcement?" NO. (Sigh) But, I did not complain.... Because I also realized that college would help civilize and socialize the little beast. Help maturity...decision making...networking...help to develop ideas and solutions to problems....
And, it is just not college participation ...it is every single job we hold..even volunteer work....we learn from each experience.
I got my first degree at 30. My second ay 47 ish. Another credential at ~52. None was as enlightening or competence making (or terrifying) as just moving out of my parent's home.
I expect we all figure it out ---some sooner....some later.....for some it is a breeze and for others it is a walk on hot coal. But it is all part of living.
