Static as in not changing. A combo pot is a dynamic entity because plants grow at diff speeds, and there's always the question of to turn, or not to turn. I used to be fastidious about symmetry but now most of my pots have a front & back and don't get turned. So many options for whatever one's personal proclivities might be.
