Ginny, I have Lily Speciosum album paired with Lily Black Beauty in a garden area of peonies, iris, lambs ears, and other plants. The lilies give that garden color in late summer when the other plants have finished blooming in the spring. It has been alive for years, but the Black Beauty that was planted at the same time has gotten more and more vigorous whereas the Lily Speciosum album is just surviving. It you haven't planted Black Beauty, I'd really recommend getting it
