I just got 27 beefsteak tomatoes for $6 Cdn - yummy! Now, I have to have fried tomatoes on toast! It's a requirement, doncha know?!?! I found a new wholesale green grocers nearby that I keep meaning to go to, and finally today I did!
My DH doesn't like fried tomatoes on toast (didn't grow up with it as I did) so I'm taking the time to make them while he's at work Whistling
Gardens in Calgary find it very difficult to ripen tomatoes, so we mostly need to go to green grocers for them. I'm really, really pleased I went there today.
Now, I have to "dust off" my recipe books that have "Canning" recipes to find a good one for tomatoes!!! Drooling
