We've spotted them a time or two strolling around our neighborhood ... there's a preserve nearby with lots of wildlife so I suppose the turkeys venture out on occasion to see what goodies they might find in peoples yards. The Audubon site says their diet consists of mostly plant material; acorns, seeds, grains, berries, buds, grass, roots, bulbs and they sometimes will also eat insects, spiders, snails, frogs, lizards, snakes and crabs!!
