I grow mulberry jam every year because the bloom spikes are fantastic and the hummers love it. Two negatives are 1) the bloom spikes are brittle and the darn house sparrows break plenty of them(and so do I when trying to lift/untangle them later in the season), and 2) the plant form is lanky and floppy. I really need to do a better job of supporting the stems this year.
