Daphne, I'll send you a piece of Sugar Maple if you want to try it. It's a George Sutton iris and was hybridized in Porterville. That's not that far from you. They get pretty hot there in the summer. Probably hotter than you do in San Diego. Also, you list your zone as 10a. I'm in 10b.
