It is interesting to read the comments from those who are at a different stage in their collecting than I am! Yes, back in the day I used to order entire collections from hybridizers, but now, each year, more leave here than arrive. A collection that was once over 1000, not counting seedlings, is now under 440, and I'm aiming to get it down to 300 or less within about 4 years.
However, each year, I do add a few from several favorite hybridizers. Most of these guys I've gotten daylilies from for years and they're nice enough to wait until after I finish shipping.
These are the only new ones for this year,
four from Judy Davisson:
CHICAGO GIRLS
PARTY EVERY DAY
SASQUATCH SOCKS
THE GREAT GOLD HEIST
Three from Tim Herrington:
BLUEBERRY CREAM CUPCAKE
MUNCHKIN MUSIC
PEA GREEN WITH ENVY
Three from Jammin's daylilies - this was my first time to order from them, and all of these are minis. I was impressed and will order from them again.
JAMMIN'S LITTLE BITTY
JAMMIN'S STARBRITE
JAMMIN'S PINKY TOES
and two from Grace Stamile :
ELFIN BLUES
DENIM BLUES
Finally, one that I've admired over the years in quite a few gardens and have always meant to get, especially because I met the lovely lady for whom this is named a few years ago.
ROSABELLE VON VALKENBURGH. This is coming from a place north of here, so I know it can survive in my climate. Some of Liz Salter's plants have been less than happy here ( and others have done perfectly well) in the past.
Now, to compensate for my weakness in ordering new plants, I spent three weeks digging myself into oblivion and shipping over 50 orders of plants out of here! Talk about shooting ones' self in the foot - the price of this addiction!
