I loved the picture on his website and would have purchased it, if Bill had not advised against it. Not sure how it would have performed in my zone but I took his verbal advice, rather than the catalog description. But, Calamity Jane has scapes now and the blooms were beautiful in the fall. I think I made a good choice.

I've noticed that a lot of cultivars have pictures that look totally different. My pic of Mineral Springs. another plant that I got from Maryott's, looked totally different than the others in the data base. I had to email the pic to him to verify that I indeed had Mineral Springs. As noted in some other threads, the soil, fertilizer, amount of water and sunlight can all effect the bloom. The camera settings can also have an effect on the picture.
