My garden has gone through many stages. Normal grass has not been one of them. Just like in life there are before and afters, so my garden has them. How do you show it? Is it like weight loss before pic and after pic? What about the in-between times, what about now? I will focus on the present and when we are in garden down time, show older pictures. But here is a little background.

This was a mess. It used to be a field lot with dumping, weed trees, and stickers. I was going to live here with my daughter. We cleaned the lot it looked better. But no real grass, a nice crape myrtle, a huge pecan in the wrong place and an ornamental pomegranate. Lots of large bushes the size of trees and trees in fence lines. Poor, poor soil, extra hot, lots of roots from weed trees, and squirrels, moles and voles, lots of wildlife except no deer this close.

Her double wide was delivered in May and I had never seen so many June bugs. Like a plague they were everywhere. Cycle of life. June bugs lay eggs, eggs are grub worms, grub worms eat all plant roots in the soil. Somehow moles hear the smorgasbord and tear up everything getting there. Twice we tried to put in a lawn. All we did was waste money and water. Somewhere along the way I became her gardener. The garden was semi-sucessful. Some things made it but even more did not.
Couple of years later this became our temporary reprieve. Broken cement pieces.

The front yard layout had been done, or so I thought. Flower. gardens in with a with a mulched seating area. The mulch had only been spread for a week or two. When my daughter came home for lunch, talking about all this broken cement. I went to check it out. Later I spoke with the man who agreed to give me two or three weeks to get it all out of there. I personally brought home an entire 2 car driveway and laid it out in the front yard. Win for him because it was kept out of a landfill no dumping fees. Win for me I had beautiful free stone work.

Tomorrow -- How the blessing of getting the stones changed the garden dynamics. Until then beautiful garden pictures.

May this day wrap you in love and comfort, while happiness surrounds you!
One to take to heart....1 John 4 ..............................................Where there is smoke...there is fire...in most cases the smoke will kill you long before the fire consumes you. Beware of smoke screens! Freedom is not free and when those who have not paid the price or made the sacrifice...think that only they are right and entitled to speak...they bring us tryanny.
