I like the pun, @evermorelawnless. When we move to our current home I lost a large, flat, sunny back garden. My husband chose a home with a beautiful shady mountain behind the house, a small sunny lawn and a bare shaded flat area shaded by a nearby oak tree.

Armed with my little pick ax (they don't call it Little Rock for nothing) I proceeded to demolish the lawn. I have a sunny swath of perennials, annuals and flowering shrubs. A raised bed is filled shade lovers.

I do still have a little bit of lawn. Due to health reasons I had to hire someone to do it. My neighbor observed that they seemed to be there for less than ten minutes and they were done. I think that they were able to do the entire job with a weed eater.
