@kniphofia, Your photo delighted me when I saw it in the contest. This phenomenon of English Bluebell woods is such an absolute delight to encounter.

When living for a year in Norwich on a teaching exchange in 1990, my mother came over from British Columbia to visit for a month. On a day's outing to Beth Chatto's Garden, near Colchester, we were returning by way of Lavenham, and stopped at a roadside stand to buy fresh Asparagus. We were persuaded by the owner, to take a slight detour to Lavenham, so that we could see a natural stand of Bluebells in the woods. It was breath-takingly beautiful! Very reminiscent of your idyllic scene.

I just checked back to see where your photo had been taken, and realised it was in the grounds at Blickling Hall, where I had worked in November 1989 as a garden volunteer for the National Trust! What a thrilling coincidence.

I so love this website, which connects people from all over the world. Thank you again, Sue for your beautiful photo, and all the wonderful memories it brought back for me.
