I purchased a potted up August Flame in 2010 at a landscape center and it has multiplied very well. I should have divided it two years ago actually. It blooms from mid-July to just about mid-August in my zone 6b garden.

Bud count maybe 12 and two-way branching, but it has a lot of scapes. Unfortunately, by the time August arrives, the leaves are looking ratty. But I am glad just to have something blooming then.

My clump of August Flame gets afternoon shade.
