'Bonitin' posted photo of roots which shows woodiness. My speciman is 18 years old with woody brown stem, never mentioned as characteristic. Grown in conservatory above 10 degrees , small pot, 30cm tall, 10 wide, never flowered, kept fairly dry in winters and looses most leaves.( In spring I propagate by breaking off stems and putting in water, surviving for several weeks until I neglect them).
Please could someone reassure me that this plant is indeed Begonia luxurians, as it's bright pink petioles seem larger and more prominent, and the stem seems too woody.
